Initially deciding to hang it up after nearly four decades of touring, Robert Earl Keen found renewed inspiration in sobriety. The Texas singer-songwriter is playing a handful of shows in multiple states in 2025, including Texas, Louisiana, Colorado and Kansas. Now, as rescue efforts continue following deadly floods in his home state, the “Gringo Honeymoon” crooner, 69, is stepping up to help.

Robert Earl Keen Will Donate Tour Proceeds to Texas Flood Relief Efforts
Following torrential rains, the Guadalupe River in Central Texas broke its banks July 4, leading to catastrophic flash floods that have killed at least 67 people as of Sunday, July 6.
Much of the deaths have occurred in Robert Earl Keen’s hometown of Kerrville, Texas, 65 miles northwest of San Antonio. According to Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha, 11 girls and a counselor are still missing from Camp Mystic, a private Christian summer camp for girls near the Guadalupe River.
The unthinkable tragedy hits particularly close to home for Keen, whose own daughters attended Camp Mystic as children.
“Our hearts are heavy watching the devastation unfold across the Hill Country—my home. We’re praying for everyone affected,” “The Road Goes on Forever” crooner wrote on X/Twitter. “Camp Mystic means so much to our family—both of our daughters spent summers there. Sending love and strength to all.”
However, Keen is sending much more than that. In a video posted to social media Saturday (July 5), the BMI Troubadour Award-winning artist announced plans to donate all merchandise sales from his current tour to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.
The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has established the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support local response, relief, and recovery efforts following the devastating July 4th flood.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected, and special thanks for the amazing support of the first responders from the community and all over Texas, rushing to aid those in need,” he said.
In the meantime, Keen urged his followers to donate directly to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which has established a Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support recovery efforts.
