The Scorpions are set to rock their hometown of Hannover, Germany, like a hurricane this Saturday, July 5, in celebration of the band’s 60th anniversary. Now comes word that the hard-rock veterans’ performance will be recorded for an album titled Coming Home Live that will be released on November 14.

The sold-out show will take place the Hannover Stadium Arena, also known as Heinz von Heiden Arena. Judas Priest and Alice Cooper will be performing prior to the Scorpions’ set.
The Scorpions’ performance is expected to feature their biggest hits and best-known tunes, as well as plenty of musical surprises.
Coming Home Live will be released as a two-CD digipak and a two-LP vinyl set. The LP collection will be available on black vinyl or limited-edition marbled vinyl. Fans can vote online on what color the limited-edition vinyl set will be. A number of special bundles also are available for purchase. They featuring a collectible scorpion figure and/or a Scorpions 60th anniversary T-shirt.
Reflecting on the Scorpions’ early days, frontman Klaus Meine said, “Back then, we just wanted to be part of the global rock family—that was our dream. Founding rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker added, “Since then, we’ve shared the stage with Aerosmith and KISS, with Metallica, AC/DC, and I don’t even remember who else we’re fascinated by—to the Berlin Philharmonic.”
Longtime lead guitarist Matthias Jabs, meanwhile, noted that he’s not interested in getting nostalgic about the group’s history.
“I don’t like to think about the past,” he insisted. “I prefer to think about what we’re doing now or will do. And that’s why, for me, the stadium concert in Hannover is the most important thing right now.”

More About the Scorpions’ 60th Anniversary Tour
The Scorpions’ kicked off a tour celebrating their 60th anniversary with a series of Latin American performances that began March 15 in Mexico City.
The band’s Hannover, Germany, show is part of a lengthy European tour leg that began in early June. The trek is plotted out through a July 26 show in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The Scorpions also have a five-date Las Vegas residency scheduled for August 14, 16, 19, 21, and 23. Buckcherry will open all of the concerts.
In addition, the Scorpions has shows lined up in Chisinau, Moldova, on September 9 and Bucharest, Romania, on September 11. Check out all of the band’s tour dates at The-Scorpions.com.
The Scorpions’ Upcoming Best-of Compilation
The Scorpions also recently announced that they will be releasing a career-spanning compilation titled From the First Sting. The album is due out on September 26.
In the Americas, the compilation will be available as a single-CD collection and a two-LP set featuring 16 tracks. The LPs are pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve.
In Europe and the rest of the world, the retrospective will be issued as a two-CD set featuring 31 tracks and as a deluxe “bookpack” containing two CDs and two LPs.

Upcoming Scorpions Biopic
In other news, a new biopic about the Scorpions titled Wind of Change is currently in production. The movie recently began filming in London, and it’s expected get its U.S. theatrical premiere later in 2025.
Dominic West, who has starred in such popular TV shows as The Wire, The Crown, and The Affair, will portray the group’s one-time manager Doc McGhee. The actors who will play four main members of the Scorpions’ classic lineup also have been announced. The movie will feature Alexander Dreymon as Schenker, Ludwig Trepte as Meine, Ed Speleers as Jabs, and Luke Brandon Field as former drummer Herman Rarebell.
One of the film’s main focuses is the Scorpions’ classic 1990 anthem “Wind of Change,” which celebrated the end of the Cold War and the falling of the Berlin Wall. “Wind of Change” is the best-selling single ever by a German artist.
