I think the quality and price of this Epiphone guitars warrants a serious look. That being said, I researched the other similar Epiphone es335 and es 355 models. So while this a good reissue,I think another Epihone should also be considere. The Epiphone Shinici es 355 has features not found on this es335. An ebony fretboard, 5 ply binding , 5 color options,different pickups and the famous vari- tone switch gives the player more tone options for $100 less and used ones under $1,000.00. Epiphone is the real deal nowadays !

These things have been about as inflation proof as any product can be. In the 90’s, contrary to whatever the referenced complainer in the article was quoted as saying, the SM57 was $79.99, and the SM58 was $89.99. They both went up to 99.99 at some point and have sat there for what seems to be the last 20 years. That doesn’t really follow the rate of inflation, and I highly doubt the price increase is solely due to the tariffs. Here’s the other thing. I have one 58, and a Beta 58, which I use for live performance, but I have 7 57’s, which, as an amateur music producer, is pretty common, and I’d argue also necessary. When it comes to staples like these, musicians, engineers, and producers who know, already have a ton of them at their disposal. And that’s typically the crowd that get so upset about things like price increases. So my take on this is, why didn’t you already have enough at your disposal? They’re pretty much indestructible, and yeah, sure, things happen and replacements are needed sometimes, but an extra $10 isn’t something to lose your mind about. But ten now, so when tariff prices actually do hit, you’re already set. Problem solved.
