Turning 92 years old just last month, Willie Nelson continued to share his love for country music when he released his latest album, Oh What a Beautiful World, just a few days after his birthday. And outside of the recording studio, he hit the road with his Outlaw Tour on Tuesday night in Phoenix. With the venue packed with fans, singers like Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams, Wilco, and even Bob Dylan took the stage. For Dylan, he felt right at home as he performed several hit songs like “Mr. Tambourine Man.” But besides his own discography, Dylan also took a moment to honor the rich legacy of The Pogues.

Marking the 10th anniversary of the Outlaw Tour, Nelson celebrated the milestone by praising the amazing lineup of singers that organizers scheduled. He said in a press release, “What an amazing lineup to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour. I can’t wait to join friends and family in bringing this celebration to the fans we love.”
Speaking of the amazing lineup, fans received a special treat when Dylan took the stage. Finding his way to the piano, the icon performed “Mr. Tambourine Man” for the first time since 2010. Performing over a dozen songs, he also covered “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight” and “All Along the Watchtower.”
Bob Dylan Kicks Off Outlaw Tour With “A Rainy Night In Soho”
Thankfully, a few of Dylan’s performances made their way online. Although seeing Dylan perform “Mr. Tambourine Man” was a highlight of the night, the singer gained a great deal of praise when paying tribute to The Pogues and “A Rainy Night in Soho.”
Looking at what fans had to say about the performance, comments included, “Thank you so much for this, what a rendition I would kill to have this on a studio release.” Another fan continued, “Bobby, you are simply the best. What a wonderful cover.”
Just the start, the Outlaw Tour will continue to travel throughout the country, showcasing the talents of acts like the Red Clay Strays, Lake Street Drive, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Willow Avalon, Waylon Payne, and several others.
