When traveling to Nashville, there are more than enough historic places for country music fans to visit. There is the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Parthenon. But outside of the history of Nashville, there were also a slew of places to eat. Depending on your favorite country singer, there was most likely a bar or grill connected to them. For fans of Riley Green, most probably visited the singer’s bar Duck Blind Nash. While a popular spot, it appeared that the rising country star looked to expand his stardom with Riley’s BBQ Shack.

Partnering with Losers Bar & Grill co-owner Steve Ford, Riley apparently had a love for ribs, pulled pork, and burgers. Listening to his stomach, the singer decided to put his money where his mouth was. Thrilled about the new venture with the country singer, Ford shared his excitement and teased fans with what they could expect. “Riley’s had a recipe for BBQ and BBQ sauce that he likes, so I’ve implemented that in and changed our menu. We’ll be the first BBQ shop in Midtown. Not only were we the first people to put a name on the building in Midtown – an artist’s name. But now the first BBQ shop in Midtown.”
As for Losers Bar & Grill, the establishment also went through some changes over the last few weeks. Having two locations, one in downtown and the other in midtown, the downtown location changed ownership, closing its doors last week.

Having operated the downtown location for over a decade, Ford expressed his gratitude to those who kept the business running. “I just want to appreciate all the… It was a great run for 16 years with all our musicians and employees that we’ve had. Everyone made it work, you know.”
Looking ahead to the future and his work with Green, Ford added, “It was a great run, and we decided to sell the building and put all of our ducks in a row with Losers (Midtown) and Riley as well with the Duck Blind.” Not finished leaving his mark on Nashville, the owner concluded, “Midtown, we’ve been here 22 years. I’m not giving this up. We have too much fun up here.”
Outside of the restaurant business, Green had more than BBQ to celebrate as he landed on top of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart with his fifth No. 1 hit, “Worst Way.” With the singer snagging No. 1 hits and feeding hungry fans, his mark in Nashville went far beyond the recording studio.
