After making the announcement at Rodeo Houston, McCollum took to social media to share the big news with fans and followers who weren’t at the sold-out show. “Did someone say new album?” McCollum wrote in the post alongside a trailer for his forthcoming release. The new collection sees him teaming up with songwriters Jon Randall, Randy Rogers, Lori McKenna, Monty Criswell, and many more.

Parker McCollum on His Self-Titled Album

Parker McCollum’s post included a video in which he talks about the forthcoming album. While he is keeping many details under wraps, it seems like the self-titled release will harken back to his early independently-released projects Limestone Kid and Probably Wrong.

“Had 15, 16-year-old Parker, if he was listening to this record while hauling ass to his grandparents’ barn on a Friday afternoon after school, he would have thought of that guy the way I thought of Ragweed the first time I ever heard ’17’ or Randy Rogers the first time I ever heard Rollercoaster or Turnpike the first time I ever heard ‘Diamonds & Gasoline’ or the first time I heard Ryan Bingham’s Mescalito and Roadhouse Sun,” McCollum said of the album.

McCollum went on to say that his new record isn’t “remotely close” to as good as the ones he mentioned. However, he believes that it is his best work to date. “This record is raw, this record is honest, this record is one thousand percent authentic Parker,” he said of the self-titled album. “It feels good to get back to writing and recording songs like I always wanted to.”

Parker McCollum will hit record store shelves and digital streaming platforms on June 27. Fans can pre-order or pre-save the album today.
