Ozzy Osbourne Could Fly Over Stadium on Throne During Black Sabbath Farewell Concert

While he will forever be known as the “Prince of Darkness”, Ozzy Osbourne watched as the years finally caught up with him. Celebrating his 76th birthday back in December, the icon spent the last several years battling both neck and spinal injuries. And that was just the start of his health issues as he also suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Having to use a wheelchair when needed, Osbourne wanted nothing more than to take the stage one last time alongside Black Sabbath. And with that dream becoming a reality in July, it seemed that Osbourne could fly around the stadium on a throne.

On July 5th, fans of Black Sabbath and Osbourne will watch the two take the stage for what is being called the Back to the Beginning show. Taking place in Birmingham, England, the concert also gained a great deal of attention from fans. And according to guitarist Zakk Wylde, who collaborated with Osbourne in the past, the concert could see the legendary singer take flight. 

Discussing the upcoming concert, Wylde suggested, “With Oz and his throne that just flies over the stadium or whatever, [where he] shoots out buckets of water and does everything like that. So if Oz has a great time and it’s just, like, ‘I wanna go out on the road again,’ it’s just, like, ‘Good. Let’s do it again.’”

Ozzy Osbourne Not Doing An Entire Black Sabbath Set

Although in his late 70s, Osbourne apparently still had his voice as Wylde added, “Ozzy was just sitting at the chair and he was singing ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home,’ and it sounded great. So hopefully we’ll just do this, and then Oz will go, ‘Let’s just fire up the machine again and we’ll do another tour.’”

While another tour might be a tall order for Osbourne, he only looked ahead to his reunion with Black Sabbath and how involved he would be. “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them.” 

Outside of Black Sabbath, the concert also promoted several other bands like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Pantera, and several others. Becoming a must-see concert for any lover of Osbourne and heavy metal, the Back to the Beginning show is sure to be a memorable concert celebrating the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne.
