“It’s Time to Go Back to the Beginning”: Watch New Trailer Promoting the Livestream of Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s Farewell Concert

Following the recent announcement that Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s sold-out farewell concert, “Back to the Beginning,” will be available as a pay-per-view livestream, a trailer for the historic, star-studded event has premiered on YouTube.

As previously reported, the show is scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park soccer stadium in Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s hometown of Birmingham, U.K.

The promo begins with archival footage of Osbourne performing at a large venue and leading the crowd in a chant. “Back to the Beginning” then appears on screen, followed by various social media messages from fans requesting that the concert be livestreamed.

A note then flashes on screen declaring, “Your Prayers Answered!” Then, as the classic Black Sabbath tune “Paranoid” plays, a montage of film clips of Osbourne performing throughout his career is shown, including footage of him with Sabbath.

We then see new footage of Ozzy commenting, “It’s time to go back to the beginning.”

The trailer also displays the main lineup for the concert. As the promo nears its end, Osbourne is shown onstage as he declares, “Birmingham forever!”

At the end of the video, a note appears explaining that livestream tickets are on sale now at BacktotheBeginning.com.

Accompanying the trailer is a message that reads in part, “For fans who’ve followed Ozzy’s 50-year reign, the global livestream offers a front row seat to a once-in-a-lifetime goodbye.” The note adds that the raw livestream will begin at 3 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET). It also reports that those purchasing will be able to “rewatch the concert in its entirety for another 48 hours.”

More About the Livestream Event

The livestream will begin two hours after the actual start of the concert. This will give fans around the world the chance to enjoy the event simultaneously.

Livestream tickets are priced at $29.99. Purchasers will be able to watch the concert on demand until July 7 at 10 a.m. ET. A special bundle also is available for $65.99 featuring the livestream and an exclusive “Back to the Beginning” T-shirt.

More About the “Back to the Beginning” Concert

As previously reported, Osbourne will play his own brief set at the concert before joining Black Sabbath for the first performance by the band’s full original lineup since 2005. The show also will feature performances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, Gojira, and Halestorm.

In addition, a bevy of special guests will hit the stage to celebrate the legacy of Osbourne and Black Sabbath. Among the other performers confirmed for the show are Sammy Hagar, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, Disturbed’s David Draiman, Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, ex-Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, Zakk Wylde, Rudy Sarzo, and Jake E. Lee.

Morello is serving as the event’s music director. The concert will be hosted by actor Jason Momoa.

Proceeds raised by the concert will benefit a trio of charities. They are Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
