Lewis Capaldi Makes Sentimental Return With Surprise Set at Glastonbury: “It’s So Good To Be Back”

Ahead of the 2025 Glastonbury festival, the masses received rumors about Lewis Capaldi‘s return to the festival and to the limelight. That is no longer a rumor, as Capaldi made his grand return to both the festival and the world’s spotlight today, June 27, 2025.

Upon walking on stage, Capaldi stated to the crowd, per the BBC: “Glastonbury, it’s so good to be back. I’m not going to say much up here today because if I did, I might start crying. […] I couldn’t sing this song two years ago. I might struggle to finish it today for different reasons.”

Capaldi concluded his short set with “Someone You Loved”, the song he had trouble finishing during his 2023 Glastonbury appearance due to some troubling emotional circumstances and his tourettes syndrome. Capaldi addressed this past event to the crowd by stating, “It’s just a short set today, but I just wanted to come and finish what I couldn’t finish the first time around. Second time’s a charm on this one, everybody.”

Following his 2023 performance at Glastonbury, Lewis Capaldi announced that he would be stepping away from the limelight to focus on his mental health, physical health, and tourettes diagnosis. Prior to this major return, Capaldi had made minimal public appearances.

Lewis Capaldi’s Return Includes His New Single “Survive”

Before his brief set at Glastonbury, Lewis Capaldi released his new single, “Survive”. Consequently, speculation surrounding his Glastonbury performance inflated immensely. Nevertheless, Capaldi introduced the song at the show and set the scene for it by stating, “It’s been difficult at times. I wanted to write a song that was about overcoming that stuff.”

“This has been my goal, to get back here, doing this,” added Lewis Capaldi. Capaldi’s new song sheds light on the invaluable theme of having resilience amid turbulent times. An invaluable theme the 28-year-old has surely had to utilize in the last couple of years.
