Celebrating her country music career, which included selling over 100 million albums, Shania Twain hit the road with her Shania Twain: Live in Concert Tour. Scheduling concerts throughout the United States and Canada, Twain wanted to do more than shine a light on her career. Hoping to help those in need, the country star prepared to donate in each city she stopped in. Wanting to help food insecurity throughout the world, Twain recently gifted $25,000 to the West Prince Caring Cupboard.

Making her way to the Cavendish Beach Music Festival at Prince Edward Island in Canada, it marked her first performance in her home country. And keeping her promise to fight hunger, the Shania Twain Foundation picked the West Prince Caring Cupboard to receive a $25,000 donation. The President of the board of directors for the non-profit, Barb Ramsay-Desroches, said, “This donation is just out of this world. We’ve been in existence since 1992, and we serve a population of about 16,000 residents in West Prince. It’s going to be a big boost to be able to go shopping and add those extra items in for our families.”
Shania Twain Wants Every Person To Have Access To “Nutritious Food”
Sharing some details surrounding the foundation, the President considered the non-profit blessed by the generosity of Twain. “We are all volunteers, and we love what we do. It really comes from the heart. I believe this donation from Shania Twain is something that’s really coming from her heart too. We feel very blessed that she selected our organization.”
Releasing her own statement about the donation, Twain cared little about the money and more about helping those less fortunate. “True strength in communities comes from looking out for one another. No one should have to go without the food they deserve, and together, we can make sure that doesn’t happen.”
With the Shania Twain Foundation handling the donations, the singer explained her mission. “At the Shania Twain Foundation, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food. These donations will provide direct support in the communities of each tour stop. We can make a meaningful impact across the United States and Canada by helping to ensure that food banks are well stocked and, in turn, uplift people in every city we visit this summer.”
