Sharing a picture of Wilson in his young age, Aldean had nothing but love and respect for the musician behind songs like “Good Vibrations.” He wrote, “One of the best musical minds of all time. Nothing but respect for Brian Wilson and all he showed us. This is one of the actual GOATS of music!”
Fans couldn’t agree with Aldean more as hundreds of comments filled the post. One person wrote, “Truer words never spoken. Talent beyond comparison. He and The Beach Boys took my generation on a magical journey. Good Vibrations Rest In Peace.”
Brian Wilson Did More Than Entertain – He Inspired
Since the news of his passing hit headlines, the tributes haven’t stopped pouring in from Ringo Star, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Mick Fleetwood, Nancy Sinatra, and several others. But for Good Morning America host Robin Roberts, Wilson was more than a legend, he was the person who lifted her up during one of the darkest times in her life.
Throughout her life, Roberts was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer and a disease that targeted bone marrow called myelodysplastic syndrome. Needing a great deal of support during that time, Wilson sent her handwritten lyrics to “God Only Knows.” She recalled the moment, stating, ‘In my home, handwritten lyrics to “God Only Know’ that he wrote out for me while I was going through my [health] journey. For [Brian Wilson] to take the time – and words and lyrics- to see how he signed it and all… Means so much.”
Roberts didn’t stop there as she posted her own video to social media that showed the handwritten lyrics framed and hanging in her home. “Brian Wilson was such a special soul. He gave me this incredible gift that I have framed in my home. Sending my prayers and condolences to his family.” She ended the caption with the hashtag “God Only Knows.”
